The north buttress of Buachaille Etive Mor in Glen Coe was a good option today, with the drizzle falling most of the day.
You get a lot of rock for your day on this route with a good length of grade 2/3 scrambling off the path up to the base of the route, keeps the interest on the steep approach.
You can climb the route in 4 long pitches but with the weather i opted for a shorter rope to keep everyone moving in the poor weather and cold temperatures. The route was wet from the start and got wetter as we got higher. Being a natural drainage line there were a few small waterfalls by the top pitch.
A few more hundred meters of grade 2/3 scrambling then saw us to the top of Stob Dearg in the cloud and rain it was then just a quick descent down the path. A good mountaineering day out.
