What we offer

All our instructors are qualified and very experienced at leading people over technical terrain in the mountains.

Our instructors are very knowledgeable about the mountain environment, so the day can be easily split up with interesting chats, wildlife and great views along the way.

We pick the best route options for you to give an enjoyable time on the rock.

We supply all the technical equipment for the route.

For those with good hill walking experience but wishing to gain new confidence and skill moving over short rocky ground in the hills. The ground covered will mostly be on grade 1 scrambling terrain with maybe a few sections of grade 2.

These 2 days are designed to take you on the path from hill walker to mountaineer.  There are many peaks in the UK where having the confidence and ability to move over rocky ground and making good decisions about the correct route options will add to the enjoyment of the hills.

Based upon your aspirations and past experience we will design the 2 best days that give you the opportunities to work on the skills and aspects of mountaineering that you wish to improve upon.

This course is designed to give people the confidence on short rocky ground without a rope, so we focus mostly on movement skills and choosing the best route up the terrain ahead, whilst also looking after the people around you.

Examples of routes:

Skills covered:

  • good route choice,

  • personal movement,

  • spotting your partner,

  • identifying consequences of position
