Glencoe landscape walk

I was in Glencoe today walking up Lairig Gartain to the watershed with Glen Etive.

The day started in drizzle but soon cleared up into sunshine. The walk up Lairig Gartain in between the 2 Buachailles is about 4km to the watershed on a good path that slowly rises.

Along the way we looked at the flora that is in flower at the moment, talked about the glaciated valley and the change in use of the landscape from forest to grazing to grassland, evidenced by the buried tree root systems, as well as seeing a small herd of red deer.

Once reaching the watershed we started to make our way back getting good views into Glencoe and Buachaille Etive Mor.
