Liathach, northern pinnacles, Torridon

Today i did the standard traverse of Liathach plus the munro tops which includes the northern pinnacles to Meal Dearg. The forecast promised sunshine but with fesh snow from the heavy rain and low cloud all day it was bitter going along the ridge.  Luckily Jules was supper quick so we could keep moving. The northern pinnacles descend from the easterly munro of Mullach an Rathain. There is little info out there about them but i would say they are about grade 3 with some ‘easy’ graded sections. There is some route finding to be done to get round the pinnacles and the route is not very well travelled which means there is loose and crumbly rock pretty much everywhere. Coming back up to the munro summit is easier than climbing down to the munro top. It would make for a very good winter day.

I was out for Steve Fallon.
