Thaw on Ben Nevis

An 8 degree difference today in the morning temperature at sea level from the past week, which transfered to high temperatures on the summit.

With soft snow down to half way on the mountain path it was thawing all the way to the summit.  It was hard going through the snow but this quickly became easier when we were passed by a line of British commandos and their French and US counterparts who made a very good track all the way up.

A refreeze soon will bring improved snow conditions. It was tricky navigation today with most of the ground covered by snow coupled with the grey sky.

Here they come

I think the wrong colour scheme today.

Well done to Kris and Tracy
