Stob Ban, Glen Nevis

Updated: Apr 8, 2021

‘Dreich’, Scottish

(especially of weather) dreary; bleak.

‘a cold, dreich early April day’

This word sums up todays weather on Stob Ban and Mullach nan Coriean, the 2 munros that make up the western end of the Mamores in Glen Nevis.

We made good progress up to the peak of Stob Ban with the rivers already in full spate, but the temperature was warm and we were sheltered from the southerly winds.

A quick bite to eat and not many photos on the summit saw us descend and move from the quartzite rock of Stob Ban and onto the granite of Mullach nan Coriean. With the cloud very low we quickly descend off the summit and down the north east ridge to dry out.
