Steall waterfall, Glen Nevis

If i were to describe todays walk into Steall waterfall in a word it would be ‘bronze’. The autumn colours at this time of year are at their best: the leaves changing, the grass going a golden colour along with the bracken and the light is crisp in the cooler air.

On the way into Steall waterfalls we took the older historical path that the shepherds used to walk in and out of the gorge, needless to say we had it to ourselves the whole way. Dropping down to Steall meadows we got great views to the waterfall and the higher peaks of the Mamores range.

We then took the short walk up to Steall ruins to see the old shepherds‘ settlements before walking back along the main gorge path.
