Today was day 1 of our Skye Munros course. I opted for the northern 3 peaks of Sgurr nan Gillean, Am Basteir and Bruach na Frithe.
With a strong wind forecast i opted to gain Sgurr nan Gillean via the easier south ridge, lending for quicker progress and a bit of shelter, with a descent down the west ridge, which was windy. The guys did well getting to the summit and down the tricky abseil.
It was then onto Am Basteir, with the wind dropping and good views to the other Cuillin peaks. After descending we then walked up (which is normally the easy part of the day) to Bruach na Frithe, but with the northern cliff of Am Basteir funnelling the wind, it was tough going up the scree.
A good day in mixed conditions. If you would like to book on to our Skye Munros course next year, have a look at our dates. https://www.thehighlandmountaincompany.co.uk/4-days-munro-course
