Today i had 3 aims, deliver a good introduction to the Cuillin ridge on Skye, finish the day hydrated and without too much sun burn. I think i achieved 2.5 out of the 3, should have taken more sun block.

With the temperature already near 20 degrees at 9am we started slowly and stopped a lot along the river to drink and cool off in a variety of ways.

Once into the corrie we made our way up to the bealach and then headed up Am Basteir, with laughs and jokes all the way and great views we enjoyed the summit. Even seeing St Kilda!

After, the real test began with an ascent of Sgurr nan Gilleans west ridge. The crazy pinnacles lived up to their name today. Once at the summit we took in more of the views and descended the south ridge.

All that was left was a dunk in the pools on the walk out, to semi cool down from the warm water.
