CMD arete, Ben Nevis

Updated: Apr 8, 2021

Today was the perfect day to be on the CMD arete up to Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK.

The day started with a bit of cloud in the glens but half way up to the summit of Carn Mor Dearg we rose above them and the sky cleared. From then on we had blue sky and a cooling breeze for the day.

We gained the summit of our 1st munro in 2.5 hours before making our way along the 1km ridge, with glorious views to the north face of Ben Nevis, ring of steal and the Mamores.

We then made the final ascent to the summit of Ben Nevis, which was very busy, before making our way down and back to the cars.
